Most bucket hat patterns come in small, medium and large, and you pick the one closest to your head. This one is drafted from your measurement instead. Type in your head circumference and the pattern redraws itself, seam allowance, notches and grainlines included.
OPEN THE PATTERN TOOL →A bucket hat is two cone frustums and a flat lid: the side band tapers from the crown to the head opening, and the brim flares out from there. Both of those shapes unroll exactly into annular sectors, which is why the pieces fit together without easing or fudging. The top is a plain circle sized to the crown. Nothing here is traced from a sample hat, so any size you enter produces a pattern that closes properly.
You can adjust head circ, ease, crown height, crown taper, brim width, brim angle, brim wave, seam allowance. The pattern has 3 piece types and 6 assembly steps, all of which update with your numbers.

Those are the starting numbers. Change any of them in the tool and everything above recalculates, including the fabric estimate and the sheet size.
A tiled PDF for home printing on Letter or A4, laid out at true scale with a 50 mm calibration square and a page map, or a full-scale SVG sized in real millimetres for projector sewing and cutting machines. Everything is free, with no account and no email address.
Print at 100% scale and never use "fit to page". Measure the calibration square before you cut anything: if it measures 50 mm, the rest of the pattern is right.
Medium-weight cotton canvas, twill, denim or corduroy all work. Around half a metre of 112 cm fabric covers a self-lined hat. Interface the brim if you want it to hold its shape, or add a wire in the brim seam if you want it bendable.
